The Method

What is the Miyagi For Golf method?
MFG is built on a simple truth: golf isn’t hard — the way we teach it is. The method uses errorless learning principles and a specific sequence: motion before tool, tool before target. You learn to move correctly before you ever pick up a club. Like Mr. Miyagi’s teaching style, the right habits are built naturally — before you even realize you’re learning golf.
Every golfer already knows how to swing — they just don’t know it yet. The baseball swing and the golf swing are the same motion. The only difference is the angle. Take your horizontal baseball swing, tilt your upper body from the hips more toward the ground, and the motion doesn’t change — the angle does. That’s the foundation of everything we teach.
The MFG curriculum is organized into three tiers: White Belt → Green Belt → Black Belt. White Belt covers foundational motion. Green Belt introduces the club and the target. Black Belt is where it all comes together on the course. Each level builds directly on the last — no skipping steps, no bad habits.
Kizamu is Don’s proprietary putting system built on implicit motor learning. You build a Constant Stroke, sear the ball’s path into your visual memory using high-contrast LED balls on a black mat (we call this The Sear), then develop distance control through feel. The result is a putting stroke your brain owns — not one you have to consciously think about on the green.
